They wanted a lighter frame during 84 so they went with the SV. If you want a DB Any viper is the one to have for a reasonable price. But the better parts you put on any bike will make it lighter any way.

I sent the same same pictures to sparky to add to his investigation. It seems he's trying to figure out if these VM frames were possibly made in the kuwahara factory before akisu started producing them.
